History repeatedly shows us how small errors and fleeting decisions have drastically changed India’s trajectory and destiny. Certain historical events, if handled differently, could have created an entirely new and glorious India.
An Examination of Historical Mistakes:
Porus and Alexander:
If King Porus had killed the defeated Alexander instead of letting him retreat, the history of the Indian subcontinent would have been entirely different.
Jayachand and Muhammad Ghori:
If Jayachand had not allied with Muhammad Ghori out of selfish interests, India might have remained free from Islamic invasions for a much longer time.
Prithviraj Chauhan and Ghori:
If Prithviraj Chauhan had not pardoned Ghori after defeating him in their first battle, India would have been spared centuries of oppression.
Rana Sanga and Babur:
If Rana Sanga had decisively defeated Babur, the Mughal empire would never have established its roots in India.
Subhas Chandra Bose:
If Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose had succeeded in defeating the British, India’s freedom struggle would have ended on a much stronger note.
The Partition of India:
If Gandhi had ensured that all Muslims moved to Pakistan and all Hindus returned to India after the Partition, today’s communal tensions would not exist.
Patel instead of Nehru:
If Sardar Patel had been chosen as the first Prime Minister instead of Nehru, India would have been more unified and strategically strong.
A Single Line in the Constitution:
If the Constitution had included just one sentence— “India, that is Bharat, is a Hindu Rashtra,” many of the problems we face today would not exist.
The Current Scenario:
We cannot change history, but we can learn from it. It’s essential to understand the circumstances that led to those decisions and ensure we do not repeat those mistakes.
Today, India is witnessing significant positive changes:
Kanya Pujan (worship of girls) has replaced Iftar parties in the residences of leaders.
The Haj subsidy has been abolished.
Kashmir and Ayodhya have been reclaimed from Islamist dominance.
Orders to shut down madrasas in Assam have been issued.
Efforts to restore the pride of Hindu culture and heritage are gaining momentum.
This moment is similar to when Hemu had nearly defeated Akbar in battle, and victory seemed imminent. However, one arrow blinded Hemu, and the course of Indian history changed forever.
Are We Repeating the Same Mistake Today?
The current government has taken bold steps to set India on the right path. Yet, are we weakening ourselves through impatience and internal division?
Some criticize the government for not doing enough, but instead of focusing on the half-empty glass, it’s time to see it as half-full. If this government stays in power for 10-15 more years, history will indeed be rewritten.
Vision for the Future:
We must understand that to fully appreciate significant transformations, time is essential. Learning from historical mistakes and correcting our present course should be our top priority.
If we fail to act now to protect our religion, culture, and nation, the future will be filled with regret.
What Needs to Be Done?
Stay United: Avoid internal conflicts and misunderstandings.
Offer Support: If you cannot actively contribute, at least support those who are fighting for the cause.
Be Alert: Our adversaries are well-prepared. We must be mentally, physically, and strategically ready.
Raise Awareness: Educate people about the importance of our religion, culture, and history.
