West Bengal has long suffered from illegal infiltration from Bangladesh. But under the Mamata Banerjee government, this infiltration has now been transformed into a structured vote-bank project.

Ahead of the 2026 assembly elections, a shocking trend is visible: in the border districts, new voter registrations have suddenly increased nine-fold. This is not a natural rise but a deliberate attempt to alter the demographic and political balance of the state.
Districts like Malda, Murshidabad, Nadia, Uttar Dinajpur, Cooch Behar, North 24 Parganas, and South 24 Parganas, all of which share porous borders with Bangladesh, have become the breeding ground of this massive electoral fraud.

Fake Voter Game – Election Commission Raises Alarm

In areas where earlier only about 100 new voters were added, the number has suddenly jumped to 900 in just three months.
The Election Commission (EC) recently suspended four officers – Debottam Datta Choudhary, Biplab Sarkar, Tathagat Mondal, and Sudipta Das – for deliberately approving fake applications.
An FIR has also been lodged against Data Entry Operator Surojit Haldar for criminal misconduct.

The EC has called this “a direct case of electoral fraud and abuse of responsibility.” This is not just negligence – this is organized sabotage of democracy.

Mamata’s Vote-Bank Politics – Silence That Speaks Loud

Why is the state government silent despite such damning evidence?

The answer is clear:

Mamata Banerjee’s TMC thrives on vote-bank politics, where illegal infiltrators are treated as “future voters.”
For TMC, national security and democracy are secondary; their only priority is power at any cost.
By ignoring infiltration and fake voter registration, the state is deliberately selling out Bengal’s future for short-term political survival and endangering the sovereignty of the country.

In the last three years, officially 2,688 Bangladeshi infiltrators were caught and deported. Experts believe the real number of illegal immigrants is very high running into several lakhs

A 2024 research paper “Electoral Roll Inflation in West Bengal: A Demographic Reconstruction of Legitimate Voter Counts” revealed shocking manipulation – nearly 1 crore fake voters may exist in Bengal.
This translates to 13.69% inflation in the electoral rolls – a figure so high that it can completely alter election outcomes.

If such trends continue, elections will no longer reflect the will of Indian citizens, but the agenda of illegal infiltrators and their political patrons.

The Way Forward – SIR & Extra Security Are the Need of the Hour

👉 Systematic Identification and Removal (SIR) of Fake Voters

The recent experiment with SIR in Bihar proved that it is one of the most effective tools to clean the voter list.
SIR helped detect dummy registrations and fake voters, ensuring that the genuine citizen’s vote is not diluted.
Based on this success, it is critical that SIR is implemented nationwide before the 2026 elections.

This is the only way to guarantee that India’s election results reflect the verdict of authentic Indian citizens and not of infiltrators.

👉 Additional Security Beyond State Control

Relying only on state police forces is not enough.
West Bengal’s law and order machinery is deeply politicized and cannot ensure free and fair polls.
Deployment of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and additional Election Security Forces is essential, especially in sensitive border districts.
Only then can voters exercise their rights without fear, coercion, or violence.

Without these steps, the 2026 elections risk becoming a mockery of democracy.

The Larger Picture – A National Threat

This is not just a Bengal issue. If allowed to continue, the vote-bank model of infiltration and fake voter creation will spread across India, destabilizing our democracy.

Opposition parties, corrupt ideologists, and their ecosystem of NGOs and media, are all complicit because they benefit from chaos, appeasement, and demographic manipulation.
