The destruction of adharma (unrighteousness) is more essential than merely protecting dharma (righteousness), as the elimination of adharma naturally leads to the establishment and preservation of dharma. When adharma is eradicated, dharma automatically flourishes, resolving all other issues in its wake. This concept is not only logical but is deeply rooted in our cultural, religious, and historical traditions.
Purpose of Avatars: The Annihilation of Adharma
In every age, the primary purpose of God’s incarnations has been to destroy adharma and establish dharma. Whether it is the stories of Lord Vishnu’s ten avatars or the narratives of sacred texts like the Mahabharata and Ramayana, the focus has always been on the destruction of adharma.
Lord Rama
He destroyed the adharma and tyranny of Ravana to establish dharma. Without Ravana’s defeat, dharma and the welfare of the world would not have been possible.
Lord Krishna
In the Mahabharata, he annihilated the adharma represented by the Kauravas and established dharma and justice. As he proclaimed in the Bhagavad Gita:
“Paritranaya Sadhunam Vinashaya Cha Dushkritam, Dharma-Samsthapanarthaya Sambhavami Yuge Yuge.”
(For the protection of the virtuous, the destruction of evildoers, and the establishment of dharma, I manifest in every age.)
Adharma: The Root of Our Problems
The challenges faced by society and the nation today stem from adharma:
- Corruption: A manifestation of adharma, undermining morality and integrity in society.
- Social Injustice: Discrimination based on caste, religion, and language is a form of adharma.
- Terrorism and Extremism: These forces of adharma disrupt the peace and stability of society.
- Religious Appeasement: The political exploitation of religion fosters adharma and dilutes the true essence of dharma.
Until adharma is eradicated, it will be impossible to resolve these issues.
Destruction of Adharma: A Necessity for Social and National Progress
The Core of Dharma’s Establishment
As long as adharma persists, the preservation of dharma remains a challenge. Destroying adharma is the first step toward dharma’s restoration.
Social Harmony
The end of adharma will eliminate evils such as casteism, religious extremism, and inequality, paving the way for peace and harmony in society.
National Security and Progress
The destruction of adharma will tackle issues like terrorism, corruption, and internal conflicts, allowing the nation to progress unhindered.
Spiritual Advancement
With the eradication of adharma, society will gravitate toward morality and spirituality, fostering the spiritual growth of individuals and communities.
Our Role: The Fight Against Adharma
The incarnations of God have shown us that the battle against adharma is not solely divine work but also a collective human responsibility.
- Stand for Truth and Dharma: Support righteousness and justice at every level.
- Oppose Adharma: Speak out and act against injustice, corruption, and extremism.
- Raise Awareness: Educate people about the dangers of adharma and the importance of dharma.
- Be Ready to Struggle: Just as Arjuna had to fight for the establishment of dharma, we too must be prepared to oppose adharma actively.
The Eternal Battle Between Dharma and Adharma
The struggle between dharma and adharma has existed since time immemorial. Without the destruction of adharma, the preservation of dharma is impossible. Therefore, it is the duty of every individual to stand against adharma and contribute to the establishment of dharma.
As Lord Krishna declared in the Bhagavad Gita:
“Yada Yada Hi Dharmasya Glanir Bhavati Bharata, Abhyutthanam Adharmasya Tadatmanam Srijamyaham.”
(Whenever there is a decline in dharma and a rise in adharma, I manifest myself.)
Now is the time to understand our responsibility against adharma and work collectively to establish dharma. The destruction of adharma is indispensable for the preservation of dharma.
Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!!
