Major Blow to Naxalism After Announcement of Amit Shah

5 Women Naxals in Narayanpur and 31 Naxals in Dantewada Surrender | 423 Surrenders Across India in First Four Months of 2025India today faces grave internal security threats—including radical jihad, terrorism, Naxalism, and communist-leftist extremism—which challenge the country’s peace, harmony, and national integrity. Among these, Naxalism has long been a violent insurgency plaguing tribal and backward regions. However, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, the BJP/NDA government has launched a strong and strategic offensive—and now, its impact is visibly transforming ground realities.

Effect of Amit Shah’s Announcement: Mass Surrender of Naxals in Chhattisgarh

Recently, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during his visit to Dantewada in Chhattisgarh, announced that villages declared “Naxal-free” would receive ₹1 crore in special development funding. Within just 48 hours, this visionary announcement prompted the surrender of 36 Naxals in two districts—Narayanpur and Dantewada—a clear sign that the government’s policy is bearing real results.

5 Female Naxals Surrender in Narayanpur

In the Nelnaar-Kutul region of Narayanpur, five women Naxals, each carrying a bounty of ₹1 lakh, laid down arms and chose to return to mainstream society. According to SP Prabhat Kumar, the establishment of new police camps in Abujhmad, combined with increased development activities and pressure from security forces, pushed these Naxals toward surrender.

31 Naxals Surrender in Dantewada

In Dantewada, 31 Naxals, including several Jan Militia members, surrendered after years of working for the Naxalite outfit. They have now abandoned violence in favor of a dignified life with access to rehabilitation schemes, employment, and government support.

Exploitation of Tribal Youth: A Grim Reality

  • One of the darkest aspects of Naxalism is the indoctrination and militarization of tribal children and youth:
  • Children as young as 9 to 15 years are trained in guerrilla warfare, explosives handling, ambush techniques, and jungle survival.

Recently recovered Naxal documents reveal that young children are used as human shields and suicide attackers, while teenagers are armed and taught to fight police forces.

The government’s counter-Naxal policy is not limited to law enforcement—it is also focused on human rights, protection of vulnerable populations, and reintegration into civil society.

Amit Shah’s Strategy: “Peace Through Development”

Home Minister Amit Shah has made it clear that Naxalism will not be defeated solely through weapons but through development and justice:

  • ₹1 crore special development fund for every Naxal-free village.
  • Rehabilitation packages, skill development, and livelihood support for surrendered militants.
  • Educational and healthcare initiatives to uplift tribal youth.

This comprehensive strategy proves that while leftist ideologies sow division and violence, the nationalist approach fosters unity, growth, and peace.

2025: A Record Year of Surrenders

In just the first four months of 2025, a total of 423 Naxals across India have surrendered, marking a historic success compared to previous years. This surge highlights the effectiveness of the “Security + Development + Rehabilitation” model being executed by the Modi government.

India’s Security Policy: Decisive Stand Against Jihad, Communism & Extremism

India is under threat from ideologies that:

  • Promote religious radicalism (jihad),
  • Encourage terrorism and armed uprisings,
  • Mislead youth through communist and leftist propaganda.

The BJP/NDA government has taken a firm and uncompromising stand against these destabilizing forces, and the recent developments in Naxal-affected areas reflect this commitment.

A Nation Reclaiming Peace

The recent surrenders in Narayanpur and Dantewada signal a turning point. India is not just recovering from decades of violence, but actively rebuilding as a secure, empowered, and unified nation.

Through bold policies, grounded leadership, and unwavering national vision, the Modi government is leading the country toward a future free from Naxalism, jihadist terror, and ideological subversion. If this momentum continues, India will soon emerge not only Naxal-free but stronger, more secure, and ideologically resilient.
