Mamata’s Anti-Industry Policy: Pushing Bengal Backward

Crisis Situation for Industries in Bengal

1. Mamata’s Decision and Its Blow to Industries

  • On April 2, 2025, the West Bengal government suddenly scrapped industrial incentive schemes that had been running for three decades.
  • This decision nullified all schemes implemented since 1993, and that too with retrospective effect.
  • Companies that had invested millions relying on these incentives are now in deep crisis.
  • Major business houses like Dalmia and Birla have already indicated losses of over ₹430 crore.
  • Many investors are turning to the courts, while industrial exodus from Bengal accelerates further.

2. The Old Legacy of Anti-Industry Politics

  • The Left Front destroyed Bengal’s industrial strength during its 35-year rule.
  • Strikes, militant trade unionism, and violence forced industrial houses like Birlas and Singhanias to leave the state.
  • Later, Mamata Banerjee rose to power by opposing Tata Motors’ Singur project.
  • That project could have restored Bengal’s industrial credibility, but it was sacrificed at the altar of political obstinacy.

3. Muslim Appeasement and Anti-National Politics – The Real Cost

  • Today, Bengal’s appeasement politics has destroyed peace, employment, and investments.
  • Schemes and resources are diverted primarily to keep one community happy for vote-bank politics.

The results are devastating:

  • Ordinary citizens are struggling for livelihood.
  • Crime and unemployment are rising.
  • Young talent and companies are migrating out of Bengal.
  • The social fabric and communal harmony are being systematically destroyed.

👉 This is not just a crisis for industries, but a crisis for society and future generations.

4. Opposition States Taking the Same Path – Karnataka at Risk

Bengal’s collapse is not an isolated case. Now, Karnataka—a prosperous state and India’s IT hub—is also moving towards Muslim appeasement and anti-national policies.

Bengaluru, the start-up capital of India, is facing growing instability and insecurity.

Investors are searching for safer and more reliable alternatives.

If this continues, Karnataka will face the same fate as Bengal, putting the future of millions of youth at risk.

5. The Real Agenda of the Thugbandhan (Opposition Alliance)

  • Whether in Bengal or Karnataka, the opposition alliance has only one priority: power at any cost.
  • For them, public welfare and national interest do not matter.

Their actual agenda is clear:

  • Capture power by any means.
  • Restart the cycle of corruption, scams, and loot.
  • Secure Muslim votes through appeasement and Islamization.
  • Turn India into a puppet of global powers who want to sell their products through corrupt leaders.

6. The Contrasting Picture of Modi Government

While opposition states are drowning in corruption, violence, and appeasement, the Modi government has completely changed India’s image over the past 11 years.

  • Economic Growth: India is today the fastest-growing major economy.
  • Military Strength: Modernized armed forces, strong defense production, and self-reliance.
  • Global Diplomacy: India is respected as a voice of strength at the UNO, G20, BRICS, and beyond.
  • Clean Governance: No scams, no kickbacks, no minister-level corruption in 11 years.
  • Cultural Renaissance: Pride and revival of Sanatana Dharma, Indian traditions, and heritage.

👉 This contrast clearly shows which path leads to development and which one leads to destruction.

7. Legal and Constitutional Issues

  • The Bengal government’s decision is not only economically damaging but also unconstitutional.
  • It violates the principles of Promissory Estoppel and Legitimate Expectation recognized by Indian courts.
  • Companies invested on the basis of written government commitments.
  • Going back on those commitments violates both Article 14 (Right to Equality) and Article 19(1)(g) (Right to Trade and Business).
  • The message is clear: Bengal is no longer safe for investments.

8. A Warning for Citizens and Youth

  • Bengal’s story is not just about one state—it’s a warning for all of India.
  • If other opposition-ruled states continue to prioritize appeasement and anti-national politics, they will face the same collapse.

Citizens and youth must understand:

  • Industries create jobs and wealth.
  • Development eliminates poverty.
  • Appeasement and anti-national policies only breed chaos, unemployment, and backwardness.

The message is crystal clear:

  • Bengal’s industry has been betrayed by decades of appeasement and anti-development politics.
  • Companies and talent are leaving, while corruption and violence flourish.
  • The same fate awaits Karnataka and other opposition-ruled states if they continue on this path.
  • The Thugbandhan cares only for power, while India’s future lies safe in nationalist leadership that prioritizes growth, security, and cultural pride.
