The mainstream history books in India often glorify Mughal rulers and other Muslim invaders while ignoring the Rajputs and Marathas, who fought fiercely to protect Hindu civilization. However, the truth is that it was the unmatched courage, sacrifice, and relentless struggle of Rajputs and Marathas that ultimately led to the downfall of Islamic rule in India and ensured that Hindu civilization survived.
BUT, we must not forget that the betrayal of some selfish Hindus (Jaichands and traitors) made the invaders’ job easier and led to unimaginable bloodshed of Hindus. If these traitors had not existed, India would have never suffered centuries of foreign rule.
1. The Rajput Resistance: The First Wall of Defense Against Islamic Invasion
From the time of Muhammad Ghori’s invasion in 1192, the Rajputs were the first and strongest defenders of Bharatvarsha against Islamic invaders. Despite facing continuous attacks, they never surrendered their spirit.
🔹 Prithviraj Chauhan (1178-1192 AD) and the Betrayal of Jaichand
- Prithviraj Chauhan defeated Muhammad Ghori in the First Battle of Tarain (1191) and could have ended Islamic invasions forever.
- However, Jaichand, the king of Kannauj, betrayed his own Hindu brother and helped Ghori in the Second Battle of Tarain (1192).
- Due to Jaichand’s selfishness and jealousy, Prithviraj was defeated, opening the gates for 700 years of Islamic oppression in India.
- Even in captivity, Prithviraj killed Ghori, proving that Hindu warriors never truly surrendered.
🔹 Maharana Pratap (1572-1597 AD) – The Lion Who Never Bowed
- Never accepted Akbar’s rule, unlike other Rajput rulers who made alliances.
- Fought the Battle of Haldighati (1576), where his army of 22,000 fought against Akbar’s 80,000 soldiers.
- Rajputs like Man Singh of Amber (a Jaichand of his time) sided with Akbar, making the battle more difficult.
- Even after losing the battle, he continued guerrilla warfare, and Akbar could never capture Mewar.
🔹 FACT: Even British historian Colonel James Tod wrote,
“Had all of India fought like Maharana Pratap, the Mughals would never have ruled India.”
2. Marathas: The Warriors Who Ended Mughal Rule in India
If the Rajputs resisted the initial Islamic invasions, it was the Marathas who completely destroyed the Mughal Empire and drove out foreign rule from most of India.
🔹 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (1630-1680 AD): The Greatest Hindu Warrior
- Founded the Hindavi Swarajya (Hindu Kingdom) at a time when Aurangzeb was committing genocide against Hindus.
- Defeated Adil Shah, the Mughals, and Siddis to create a powerful empire.
- Mughal traitors like Mirza Raje Jai Singh and Jaswant Singh sided with Aurangzeb to capture Shivaji, but Shivaji outsmarted them all.
- Escaped from Agra (1666), proving that no Mughal could hold him captive.
- Was coronated as Chhatrapati in 1674 and laid the foundation for the end of Mughal rule.
🔹 The Maratha Empire: Destroyers of the Mughals
- After Shivaji, the Maratha Confederacy under Baji Rao I, Balaji Vishwanath, and others crushed Mughal power.
- Baji Rao I (1720-1740) never lost a battle and expanded Hindu rule across India.
- In 1737, the Marathas defeated the Mughals right in Delhi, proving that Hindu power was supreme.
- By 1757, the Mughals had become pensioners under the Marathas.
- BUT, once again, Hindu traitors like Scindia and Holkar aligned with the British, leading to the Maratha downfall in 1818.
3. Hindu Betrayal: How Jaichands Made Islamic Rule Easier
It was not just the foreign invaders who harmed India. Some selfish, power-hungry Hindus (Jaichands) betrayed their own people and allowed Islamic rulers to establish their rule.
Examples of Hindu Traitors (Jaichands) in History:
- Jaichand of Kannauj – Helped Muhammad Ghori defeat Prithviraj Chauhan, leading to the first Islamic empire in India.
- Man Singh of Amber – Fought for Akbar against Maharana Pratap, betraying Rajput honor.
- Mirza Raje Jai Singh – Tricked Shivaji into meeting Aurangzeb, leading to his captivity in Agra.
- Gardi Pathans & Holkar – Helped the British defeat the Marathas in the Third Battle of Panipat (1761) and later in 1818.
- Nehru and Leftist Historians – Whitewashed Islamic crimes and glorified Mughals, hiding the real Hindu heroes from history books.
4. Why This Truth Is Hidden from Us?
Despite these glorious victories, Indian history books have been manipulated to glorify invaders like Akbar, Aurangzeb, and Tipu Sultan while ignoring Hindu warriors who actually saved Bharat from complete Islamic rule.
- Nehruvian and Communist historians deliberately portrayed Mughals as “secular” and “great rulers.”
- The British wanted Indians to believe that only they freed India from the Mughals, when in reality, it was the Marathas who ended Mughal rule long before the British came into power.
5. The Truth Must Be Told!
If not for the Rajputs and Marathas, India would have become another Afghanistan or Pakistan, where Hinduism was wiped out. Their sacrifices ensured that Hindu dharma survived.

✅ Teach our children the real history of Shivaji Maharaj, Maharana Pratap, Baji Rao, and other Hindu warriors.
✅ Reject false narratives that glorify invaders and suppress Hindu bravery.
✅ Expose the traitors (Jaichands) who sided with invaders.
✅ Celebrate Hindu Resistance Day to remember our warriors.
✅ Support efforts to rewrite history books with the truth.
Hindu Unity Could Have Prevented Centuries of Slavery
Islamic rule in India did not end because of the British. It ended because of the unstoppable spirit of Rajputs and Marathas, who fought against all odds and preserved Hindu civilization.
But the biggest lesson from history is this: If Hindus had remained united, there would have been no Islamic rule in India at all. The real enemy was always the Jaichands among us, who betrayed their own people for personal gains.
