Standards for Temples: A Unified Vision for Hindu Revival

Hindu temples are not just places of worship, but can also serve as centers for social and cultural rejuvenation. To achieve this, the following standards and initiatives can be implemented. Temples meeting these criteria should be certified to acknowledge their contributions.

Management and Structure of Temples

1. Cleanliness and Dress Code

  • Ensure cleanliness in and around the temple premises.
  • Entry into the temple in unclean or inappropriate attire should be prohibited.

2. Hindu Trade and Employment

  • Only Hindu traders should be allowed to conduct business around temple premises.
  • Temples should facilitate connections between local Hindu traders and workers.

3. Security and Infrastructure

  • Fortify temple boundaries for enhanced security.
  • Install CCTV cameras and strengthen vigilance.

4. Financial Transparency

  • Temple priests must publicly disclose all donations and expenses.

5. Cultural Authenticity

  • Only idols of deities from Sanatan Dharma should be installed in temples.

6. Financial Support for Temple Maintenance and Management

  • Respected members of society and businesspersons should make appropriate arrangements for the maintenance and management of the temple to ensure that all activities continue smoothly.

Efforts for Physical and Mental Development

1. Wrestling and Sports

  • Establish a wrestling arena (akhada) within the temple premises.
  • Organize traditional sports like kabaddi, lathi-danda, rope climbing, and sword-fighting to engage youth.

2. Education and Values

  • Set up Vedic schools for all age groups to teach scriptures and Sanskrit.
  • Conduct physical competitions to steer youth away from addictions and distractions.

Social Reform and Safety Initiatives

1. Women’s Safety

  • Educate local youth to safeguard the women in their communities.
  • Keep a watchful eye on outsiders and suspicious individuals.

2. Property Management

  • Discourage renting or selling properties to non-Hindus (Muslims and Christians).
  • Persuade, warn, or socially boycott those who do so.

3. Support for the Poor

  • Provide financial and social support to impoverished Hindus.
  • Guide them in accessing government schemes and ensure their children receive education.

Religious and Cultural Awareness

1. Religious Leadership

  • Religious leaders should focus solely on Hindu interests and oppose secular parties.
  • Encourage Hindu youth to embrace a strong Hindu identity and patriotism.
  • Work towards eliminating distortions in Hindu scriptures.

2. Religious Guidelines and Research

  • Issue religious and political guidelines for Hindus.
  • Establish institutes to research scriptures and other religious texts.

  • Distance oneself from shows like Bigg Boss and Bollywood films that degrade cultural values.

1. Professional Lobbies

  • Create strong networks of Hindu lawyers, doctors, traders, soldiers, and media professionals.

2. Employment and Trade

  • Connect Hindu businesses with Hindu employees and laborers.
  • Promote local trade with temples playing a facilitating role.

Inspiration and Message for Youth

  • Devotion to Dharma: Encourage youth to remain dedicated to their faith, culture, and nation.
  • Cultural Preservation: Every Hindu youth should act as a custodian of their religion and culture.
  • Unity and Courage: Eradicate caste and class differences, promoting a singular “Hindu” identity.
