What if Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had been India’s first Prime Minister? It’s a question that sparks curiosity and invites reflection. Known for his firm leadership and role in unifying the nation, Patel might have taken India on a very different political path. In this piece, we explore how his leadership could have reshaped the country’s early years.
A Reflection on Sanatana Dharma and India’s Destiny”
In the crucial days leading up to India’s independence, there was a defining moment in our nation’s political history — a moment that could have changed the destiny of Bharat forever.
When the question of India’s first Prime Minister arose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, received the overwhelming support of the Congress Working Committee.
Out of all the votes cast, every single one was in favor of Sardar Patel — except one.
Jawaharlal Nehru did not receive a single vote.
And yet, Mahatma Gandhi overruled the democratic choice.
He insisted that if Nehru was not made the Prime Minister, he would go on a fast unto death (satyagraha). Under this pressure, Sardar Patel stepped aside for the sake of unity, and Nehru became India’s first PM.
A Turning Point That Defined Hindu Suffering
Had Sardar Patel been made the Prime Minister:
- Sanatana Dharma would have flourished.
- The unity and cultural strength of Hindus would have reached its peak.
- The relentless appeasement of Muslims at the cost of Hindu dignity would have never been tolerated.
- The dangerous path of Islamization of Bharat would have been stopped in its tracks before it began.
Instead, what followed was decades of minority appeasement, vote-bank politics, and slow institutional weakening of Hindu identity.
A Chilling Attempt in 2013: The Minority Rights Bill
One of the most dangerous examples of this appeasement came in 2013, when the UPA government tried to pass a Minority Rights Bill that would have:
- Granted minorities (read: Muslims) special constitutional powers, equal to or even more than Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
- Empowered them with legal tools that would have made it extremely difficult for Hindus to defend themselves if a complaint was filed against them by any minority individual.
- Institutionalized a system of reverse discrimination against the Hindu majority in their own land.
This bill was tabled three times in Parliament, but each time, it was blocked by the strong and patriotic resistance of the BJP.
Thank the heavens for that.
A Divine Intervention: The Rise of BJP and Narendra Modi
The turning of the tide began in 2014, when Narendra Modi and the BJP came to power with the blessings of Bharat Mata and the awakening of Hindu consciousness.
Since then:
- The systematic marginalization of Hindus has been resisted and reversed.
- Sanatana values are being restored in public life and education.
- The voice of the common Hindu is finally being heard and respected.
- And this is just the beginning.
Let Us Not Repeat the Mistakes of the Past
We must never forget how close we came to total cultural and political surrender.
We must ensure that the legacy of Sardar Patel is honored, not just in memory, but in action — by protecting Sanatana Dharma, defending Hindu rights, and ensuring that Bharat remains a Hindu Rashtra in spirit and soul.
Let the mistakes of 1947 and the near-disaster of 2013 never be repeated.
Time to rise again, united and unwavering.
- It is time to vote with purpose, to support those who protect our dharma.
- It is time to finish what Sardar Patel once began — a truly sovereign, secure, and Sanatani Bharat.
Jai Bharat! Jai Sanatana Dharma! Jai Shri Ram!
