Why Are We Disillusioned and Frustrated Today?

In today’s world, despite incredible advancements in science and technology, society is facing increasing challenges like stress, dissatisfaction, confusion, and moral decline. People are constantly running after wealth, status, and material pleasures, yet they struggle with anxiety, inner emptiness, and mental unrest.

🔹 1️⃣ Distance from Spirituality – Failure to Recognize True Happiness

🔸 Most people believe success is limited to material achievements and separate spirituality from daily life.
🔸 When material success is either not attained or is lost, one feels insecure and hopeless.
🔹 As stated in the Bhagavad Gita (2.66):
“Nāsti buddhir ayuktasya na cāyuktasya bhāvanā
Na cābhāvayataḥ śāntir aśāntasya kutaḥ sukham

(A person whose mind is not connected to spirituality cannot have stable intelligence. Without such stability, there is no peace, and without peace, how can there be happiness?)

Solution:

  • Integrate spirituality into daily life.
  • Remember God, pray, and study scriptures regularly.
  • Adopt selfless Karma Yoga—perform duties without attachment to the results.

🔹 2️⃣ Materialism and Excessive Competition – “Always Wanting More”

🔸 Society today is highly achievement-oriented, leading to constant comparison and dissatisfaction.
🔸 Social media has blurred the line between real and artificial happiness.
🔸 People forget that true happiness lies in inner peace, not in external possessions.

Solution:

  • Balance life with dharma, service, and self-discipline.
  • Stop comparing yourself with others; focus on self-improvement.
  • Develop gratitude—everything you have is by God’s grace.

🔹 3️⃣ Decline of Family Values – Lack of Love and Sacrifice in Relationships

🔸 Today’s fast-paced life is isolating people from family and society.
🔸 The joint family system is disappearing, and individualism is on the rise.
🔸 Selfishness, ego, and impatience are leading to broken relationships between parents, children, spouses, and friends.

Solution:

  • Re-establish family values and traditions.
  • Respect elders and pass on moral teachings to children.
  • Fulfill family and social responsibilities with a sense of cooperation and service.

🔹 4️⃣ Mental Restlessness – “The Never-Ending Desire for More”

🔸 People are trapped in work, competition, and material desires, leading to mental instability.
🔸 Anxiety, depression, and insecurity are rising.
🔸 The digital world has made people restless and unable to find peace.

Solution:

  • Practice yoga, meditation, and pranayama daily.
  • Read Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, and the Upanishads.
  • Follow a natural and balanced lifestyle—eat healthily, sleep well, and think positively.

🔹 5️⃣ Increasing Social Conflicts – Hatred in the Name of Religion, Caste, and Politics

🔸 Political and social agendas are dividing society.
🔸 Sanatan Dharma and its culture are under attack, leading to confusion among Hindus.
🔸 We need to unite to protect dharma and cultural heritage.

Solution:

  • Stand for truth and justice.
  • Promote the correct understanding of Sanatan Dharma and its scientific wisdom.
  • Spread harmony, unity, and cooperation in society.

🔹 6️⃣ Lack of Faith – “Is Religion Really Necessary?”

🔸 Many believe religion is outdated, while in reality, Sanatan Dharma is based on wisdom, logic, and science.
🔸 By limiting dharma to mere rituals, people have lost its deeper meaning.

Solution:

  • Understand and apply the true principles of Sanatan Dharma.
  • Do not confine spirituality to rituals alone; incorporate it into your daily life.
  • Educate the next generation about dharma, morality, and Indian culture.

📌 How to Overcome This Disillusionment and Confusion?

Develop a positive approach toward spirituality and dharma.
Fulfill your duties toward family and society.
Adopt moral values—truth, non-violence, love, compassion, and selfless service.
✅ Live the philosophy of Nishkama Karma Yoga—do your duty but detach from results.
Practice meditation, chanting, and devotion to God daily.
Unite for the preservation and promotion of Sanatan Dharma and Hindu culture.
