Why Haven’t We Become True Hindus Yet

The fragmented state of Hindu society, grappling with an identity crisis, compels us to reflect deeply. Despite our cultural and spiritual heritage, why haven’t we fully embraced our core identity as Hindus? Let’s delve into this question in detail.

Confusion of Caste, Varnas, and Identity

We divided ourselves into Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, and Shudras.

Casteism isolated us to the extent that we forgot our shared cultural and religious roots.

Being “Hindu” transcends caste and varna, but we have failed to accept this broader identity.

Remember: Our religion teaches us “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family), yet we confined it to mere words.

    The Influence of Politics

We became supporters of BJP, Congress, SP, TMC, and other political parties.

Instead of balancing religion and politics, we prioritized the latter.

Preserving religion and culture has become dependent on political agendas.

The question is: Are we placing politics above our religion?

      Regional Divisions

We identified ourselves as North Indians, South Indians, Gujaratis, Marathis, and Bengalis.

Regionalism narrowed our identity and divided us further.

We forgot our true identity as “Hindustanis” and “Hindus.”

Think: Are our regions greater than our religion and culture?

        Spiritual Misguidance

We became followers of various saints and gurus, but failed to embrace the core principles of our religion.

Instead of adhering to the ideals of Shankaracharya, Ram, Krishna, and Hanuman, we focused on superficial practices and personal gains.

Evaluate: Are we practicing religion genuinely, or are we merely putting on a show?

          Divisions of Social Class

We divided ourselves into the rich and the poor.

Our socio-economic struggles further weakened our collective identity.

We sidelined Hindu traditions of equality and charity.

Understand: Our cultural heritage teaches us cooperation and unity.

            What Needs to Be Done?

Unified Identity: Rise above caste, class, region, and politics to first identify as “Hindus.”

Practice Religious Values: Incorporate the ideals of Ram, Krishna, and Hanuman into your daily life.

Unity in Diversity: Strengthen the “Hindustani” and “Hindu” identity, transcending regional and social divisions.

Self-Reflection: Evaluate your actions and thoughts to ensure they contribute to uniting rather than dividing society.

            Message for the Youth

The greatest strength of Hinduism lies in its diversity and tolerance. It is time to ensure this strength does not turn into a weakness.

Move beyond caste, class, and regional differences to embrace the “Hindu” identity.

Work towards uniting society and take pride in your cultural heritage.

Rise above politics and self-interest to safeguard religion and culture.

”Without the preservation of religion and culture, society cannot exist.”
If today’s youth unite to uphold the core principles of Hinduism, not only will the society become stronger, but the nation will also prosper.
