Embracing our Glorious History and Pride
India’s history is a tapestry woven with valor, sacrifice, and self-respect. Unfortunately, modern education often alienates us from this magnificent past. Instead of celebrating the bravery and sacrifices of our ancestors, much emphasis is placed on narratives of defeat and subjugation. Now is the time for the younger generation to reconnect with history, understand it deeply, and embrace the pride it inspires.
Examples of Bravery: Golden Chapters of History
Battle of Kabul (1840):
A mere 1,200 Rajputs held off 8,000 Pathans for over an hour, exemplifying unmatched courage and military acumen.
Third Battle of Chittorgarh:
8,000 Rajputs fought valiantly against 60,000 Mughal soldiers. Historians believe that if the Rajputs had been just 15,000 strong, Akbar would not have survived.
Battle of Girri-Sumel:
15,000 Rajputs took on 80,000 Turks. After the war, Sher Shah Suri remarked, “For a handful of Bajra (Marwar), I nearly lost the throne of Hindustan.”
Sacrifice of Auwa:
Thakur Kushal Singh of Pali displayed defiance by beheading a British officer and hanging his head at the fort, a symbol of resistance still honored with an annual fair.
Raja Dilip Singh Judev of Sarguja:
He reconverted 100,000 tribal people to Hinduism, demonstrating unparalleled courage and dedication to faith.
Heroes of Valor
India’s history is replete with heroes whose bravery and sacrifice shaped the nation:
Bappa Rawal
Maharana Pratap
Rana Sanga
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj
Maharaja Anangpal Singh Tomar
Prithviraj Chauhan
Rani Padmavati
Durgadas Rathore
Rani Durgavati
Veer Jaymal Medtia

…and countless others whose courage continues to inspire pride in the land they defended.
