Global Rejection of Muslims is a significant and complex issue, arising from different reasons in various countries and societies. We will explore the reasons why Muslims face rejection, such as religious extremism, cultural discrimination, and terrorism. Additionally, we will understand what lessons the Muslim community should learn to address this issue and promote peace and harmony in society.
1. Why Is the World Rejecting Muslims?
Across the world — whether democratic or autocratic — many nations are facing serious concerns about a specific pattern among Muslim communities:
- Religious extremism,
- Placing Sharia above national laws,
- Rejecting local culture,
- Promoting separatism and terrorism.
For Example:
- China cracked down on Muslims due to rising radical groups like the East Turkestan Islamic Movement.
- Myanmar took a harsh stand against Rohingya Muslims due to growing extremist activities.
- France faced brutal terrorist attacks — including the beheading of a teacher — which led to mosque closures and strict laws.
- Japan proactively outlawed religious extremism and restricted Islamic propagation.
Wherever Islamic fundamentalism grows, the native culture, law, and peace are threatened. Therefore, countries have adopted defensive or hardline policies, which are now seen as “Islamophobia.”
2. Why Are Muslims Unsafe Even in Muslim-Majority Countries?
It is even more shocking that Muslims are not safe even in countries with 100% Muslim populations.
- Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya — here, Shia vs. Sunni, Sufi vs. Salafi, Taliban vs. non-Taliban — the divisions are endless.
- Bombs explode in mosques, gunmen fire at processions, and women are stoned in public.
Muslims are not just unsafe among non-Muslims — they are unsafe even among themselves. The problem is not external, it lies within the ideology and intra-faith intolerance.
3. Muslims in India: Privileges and Yet Discontent
India is the only country where Muslims enjoy:
- Full religious freedom,
- Haj subsidies (earlier),
- Freedom to run madrasas,
- Personal Sharia law,
- Benefits of reservations,
- And often legal and political appeasement.
Yet:
- Slogans like “Bharat tere tukde honge”, “Ghazwa-e-Hind”, and “Sar tan se juda” are raised.
- Leaders like Owaisi threaten with “15 minutes without police.”
- Separatists in Kashmir openly shout “Pakistan Zindabad.”
- Madrasas spread anti-national content.
- Love Jihad, population jihad, and illegal infiltration continue unchecked.
- Hindu gods are insulted, but no one calls for religious tolerance.
When such privileges are still met with hate and rebellion, India’s patience will not last forever.
4. What Needs to Be Done? (Path of Reform)
The Muslim community must introspect and reform from within:
(1) Nation above religion:
If you live in India, respect the Constitution, culture, and civil laws above all. Abandon fantasies of an Islamic state or caliphate.
(2) Reject extremism:
Boycott every cleric, politician, or group that spreads hatred or radicalism.
(3) Embrace education, employment, and nation-building:
Learn, progress, and contribute to national development like other communities.
(4) Respect other religions:
Just as you don’t tolerate disrespect of your Prophet, respect Hindu deities and culture.
(5) Return to real Islam:
Peace, coexistence, and compassion are the real values of Islam. Embrace them again.
5. What If No Change Comes?
India’s tolerance has limits too. If the situation doesn’t improve:
- Public patience will break,
- Laws will become harsher,
- Nationalist forces will rise,
And India may also take a path similar to France, Myanmar, China, or Japan.
Muslims in India have been respected and accommodated — but respect is not based on demands, it’s earned through duties.
If the Muslim community chooses to be an integral part of the nation and fulfills its duties — India will embrace them.
But if it continues down the path of separatism and hate — a civilizational clash will be unavoidable.
